On October 5, 2026, the mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, and David Regades, the delegate of Zona Franca, signed an agreement for the purchase of two plots of land located near the Museum of the Sea beach. The total cost for the acquisition is €80,809, which will be paid to the Zona Franca Consortium.
Caballero described the signing as “very important,” stating that it will facilitate the construction of a parking area at the beach. He explained, “We are going to transform the plots and allow users to access this space for free.”
The purchase aims to enhance accessibility and parking options in the area, benefiting both residents and visitors.
