Alicante will host the seventh edition of the National Congress on Land Transport from 14 to 16 October, organised by the Association of Transport, Tachographs and Road Safety (ATTYSV) in collaboration with the Local Police of Alicante. Over a hundred local police officers from across Spain, civil guards, Navarre police, ertzaintza, and representatives from various companies in the sector will participate in the event, which will take place at the 'Felicidad Sánchez' Social Centre in La Florida.

The congress will open on Wednesday, 14 October, at 09:00 with a presentation by José Antonio Artieda, the Prosecutor for Road Safety in Alicante, titled 'Responsibility and MVP insurance in light of the reforms of Law 5/2025 and RD 52/2026. Other highlights of the programme include a roundtable on road safety addressing 'Drug-related issues in driving, their operability and judicial processing challenges', featuring contributions from various speakers, including José María Conesa, Chief Commissioner of the Local Police of Alicante. The session will be moderated by Alejandro Fabra, Superintendent of the Local Police of Alicante.

The congress will conclude on Friday, 16 October, at 11:30 with a presentation by Aurelio Francisco Melgosa, a commander of the Civil Guard Traffic School in Mérida, discussing 'Legislative updates'.

According to the organisers, the congress aims to enhance the training of members of the Security Forces and specialists in various areas related to land transport. Additionally, this annual event seeks to promote human relationships and coexistence among participants. The previous six editions have established the congress as a key reference point for professionals and administrations to address the most relevant challenges and advancements in road transport, technology, and particularly road safety.

The ATTYSV was founded in Seville, where it held its first congress in 2020, followed by events in Valladolid (2021), Bilbao (2022), Valencia (2023), Avilés (2024), and Madrid (2025).
