Commissar for Xacobeo 2027 strengthens alliance between Galicia and Navarra in Pamplona

Marcos Gómez Román, the commissar for Xacobeo 2027, attended a meeting in Pamplona organised by the Galician-Navarre Association (AGANA), where he emphasised the significance of the Camino de Santiago as a historical and cultural link between Galicia and Navarra. The event focused on the challenges and opportunities presented by the upcoming Xacobeo 2027 celebrations.

Under the slogan "Two territories united for centuries by the Camino de Santiago," AGANA hosted this gathering in the Navarre capital to strengthen historical and cultural ties between the two regions and to explore the potential benefits of Xacobeo 2027.

During his address, Gómez Román highlighted Navarra's role as a key entry point to the Camino de Santiago in the Iberian Peninsula and underscored the long-standing relationship between the two territories, connected by the pilgrimage route for centuries.

The commissar took the opportunity to outline the main objectives for Xacobeo 2027 and expressed Galicia's enthusiasm for the upcoming Holy Year. He noted that this event presents a chance to enhance the international profile of the Camino, energise the regions it traverses, and strengthen collaboration among the various communities involved.

In his speech, he encouraged attendees to become ambassadors for Xacobeo 2027 and to help promote this significant celebration, inviting the people of Navarra to engage in an event that aims to involve all territories linked to the Camino.
