The ‘huesca en tránsito’ exhibition, organised by the Provincial Council of Huesca, has attracted significant attention, welcoming over 6,800 visitors in just over three weeks. The exhibition, titled ‘Huesca en Tránsito. Crónica sentimental de una década’, highlights the vibrant cultural scene of Huesca during the 1980s, a decade that transformed the city’s artistic landscape.
Of the total visits, 5,325 were to the exhibition itself, while 1,521 participants engaged in various parallel and educational activities. These figures reflect the warm reception of this cultural initiative, which continues until 15 November, featuring a diverse programme of film screenings, music performances, artistic interventions, and discussions.
The exhibition’s curators, Alberto Gabarre, José Ignacio Callén, and Jesús Bosque, have successfully reconstructed the spirit of the 1980s in Huesca with contributions from over 180 individuals who provided memories, documents, and original materials. The display includes photographs, posters, records, publications, and objects that capture the essence of a city exploring new forms of expression, entertainment, and social interaction.
A standout feature of the exhibition is the recreation of the legendary bar Tránsito, which served as a crucial meeting point for musicians, artists, and creators during that era. This exhibition not only serves as a nostalgic reminder but also invites visitors to discover a pivotal chapter in Huesca’s recent cultural history.
The film series continues on 16 October with a screening of Pedro Almodóvar's ‘Pepi, Luci, Bom y otras chicas del montón’, followed by ‘Arrebato’ by Iván Zulueta on 30 October. Both screenings will take place at 19:30 in the council's auditorium. The series will conclude on 13 November with a selection of six short films related to audiovisual creation in Huesca during that period.
Music and artistic interventions will also play a significant role in the programme. On 24 October, José Ángel Enciso will present an artistic intervention, and a DJ session featuring Tupe from Monzón and Carlos Juan from Jaca will run from 18:00 to 21:00. This format will be repeated on 7 November with an intervention by Fernando Hatake and a musical performance by Josan (Almudévar) and Sherki (Huesca).
Another notable event is the round table discussion ‘Huesca en Tránsito. Crónica musical de una década’, scheduled for 28 October at 19:30 in the Salón Azul of the Huesca Casino. This event will bring together musicians and commentators from the era, including Josep Espluga, Macu Garzo, Juanjo Javierre, Tahití Giménez, and Luis Lles, moderated by Luis Laiglesia.
As a finale to the musical programming, a concert featuring Domador, Lassi.0, Naxmax, and Kikemán DJ will take place on 15 November at 18:30 in the Porches de Galicia, in collaboration with the Huesca City Council. Additionally, guided tours for individuals will be available on Sundays 18 and 25 October and 8 and 15 November at 12:30.
The exhibition is open to the public at the Provincial Council of Huesca's exhibition hall, with free admission from Tuesday to Friday, 18:00 to 21:00, and on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 12:00 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 21:00.
