Consejería de Economía announces €110 million budget for industrial development in 2027

The Consejería de Economía has announced a significant budget increase for 2027, reaching €110 million, marking a 16.7% rise from the previous year. Belinda León, the Consejera de Economía, Innovación, Empresa y Trabajo Autónomo, highlighted this during her presentation on the 2027 budget, describing it as the largest allocation of resources in the current legislative term.

This budget enhancement will support the new 2027-2031 Plan for the revitalisation and enhancement of industrial estates and infrastructure, which is set to receive €22.73 million next year, increasing to €23.73 million with the addition of gasification projects.

León noted that 2027 will also be a pivotal year for TECHRIOJA, a hub connecting businesses, universities, technological centres, entrepreneurship, and talent. The budget aims to create conditions that make La Rioja an attractive region for investment, entrepreneurship, innovation, and employment. Key economic initiatives include €57.49 million earmarked for promoting business investment and €1.9 million for the sixth call of the Plan for the Consolidation of Self-Employment.

The budget places particular emphasis on supporting self-employed individuals, entrepreneurs, commerce, and small businesses, which form the backbone of the economy. León stated, "All of this is without forgetting the policies on labour and occupational health, social dialogue, and the social economy, because a more competitive economy also demands quality employment, safe work environments, and stability in relations between businesses and workers."

The budget section for the Consejería totals €75.5 million in 2027, nearly €4 million more than in 2026. The ADER (Development Agency of La Rioja) will receive €84.9 million, reflecting a €12.6 million increase, or 17.4% more than the previous year. The overall budget amounts to €110,053,178.

Among the key initiatives in the industrial policy framework is the 2027-2031 Plan for the revitalisation and enhancement of industrial estates, which will allocate €23.73 million for 2027. TECHRIOJA is set to receive €4.6 million for its development, covering the construction of the park, renovation of buildings, and equipping its spaces. The General Directorate of Business, Energy, and Internationalisation will have a budget of €14.8 million in 2027, a 7% increase from 2026, while the General Directorate of Labour and Occupational Health will receive €5.4 million, focusing on prevention through training and improved working conditions. The increase in ADER's budget by 17.4% will enhance its capacity to support businesses and facilitate investment.
