Feria de los Cuentos celebrates library day with activities for all ages

The inaugural Feria de los Cuentos turned Parque de La Cantábrica into a vibrant meeting point for families and reading enthusiasts. The event attracted a large audience and brought the activities of the Municipal Library Miguel Artigas outdoors, coinciding with its 75th anniversary celebrations.

The programme included a range of activities suitable for different age groups, from a sensory autumn installation for babies aged 0 to 3 years to traditional wooden games, face painting, and reading corners. Storytellers played a prominent role throughout the day, sharing tales about the municipality's history, led by Nahum Cobo, along with sessions from Mariposas en la Mochila, Carmen Pría, and Pájaros en mi cabeza.

Ana Cañas, the culture councillor, expressed gratitude for the families' participation and highlighted the significance of the celebration:

“Library Day is an opportunity to bring books and reading closer to the people. With this fair, we aimed to take the library to the streets and share the magic of stories with families of all ages. The overwhelming response from the public has been the best way to also celebrate the 75 years of the Miguel Artigas Library.”

The Feria de los Cuentos is part of a special programme running throughout the year to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Municipal Library Miguel Artigas, celebrating its legacy and connection with several generations of readers.
