The Diario Oficial de Galicia (DOG) has announced a €300,000 increase in the budget for housing aid aimed at individuals under 36 years old in municipalities with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants. This adjustment raises the total budget from the initial €2 million to €2.3 million.
The updated scheme will now allow applicants who purchased a property between 16 October 2025 and 31 December 2025 to access the aid, having previously been excluded due to the original application deadlines set in the announcement made on 19 August.
The initiative aims to facilitate access to home ownership for young people, either through direct purchase or self-promotion on land owned by the applicant. For self-promotion, construction must commence after 1 January 2026.
Applications for the aid will remain open until 16 November. The maximum amount of assistance available will be 20% of the purchase price or the cost of self-promotion, excluding associated expenses and taxes, with a cap of €15,000 per property. The total cost of the property, including any annexes, or the cost of self-promotion must not exceed €250,000.
Properties purchased under this scheme must serve as the applicant's primary residence for a minimum of five years from the date of acquisition or the completion of construction in the case of self-promotion.
