The Toledo Chamber of Commerce and Banco Santander have celebrated the tenth anniversary of their business awards by recognising six companies from the province. Gresmanc Group, based in Los Yébenes, has been awarded the title of pyme of the year 2026 during a ceremony held at the Círculo de Arte in Toledo.
This year’s awards also acknowledged five other companies for their contributions to economic development, innovation, internationalisation, job creation, and sustainability. Notably, a special mention for business legacy was awarded to the historic Toledo confectionery, Santo Tomé, which has maintained the traditional craft of marzipan for seven generations since its establishment in 1856.
The awards ceremony brought together representatives from the local business community and institutions, including Patricia Franco, the regional Minister of Economy, Enterprises and Employment, and Carlos Velázquez, the Mayor of Toledo. During her speech, María de los Ángeles Martínez Hurtado, President of the Toledo Chamber of Commerce, emphasised the crucial role of small and medium-sized enterprises (pymes) in generating employment, wealth, and opportunities. She stated, “Behind every business decision, there are people who imagine, invest, take risks, and work to ensure a project has a future.”
Martínez Hurtado also highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between administrations and business organisations to simplify administrative processes, tailor training to the needs of the productive sector, and create a stable environment that facilitates investment and growth.
The pyme of the year award has been given to Gresmanc Group, an industrial company from Los Yébenes that specialises in the development and manufacturing of high-performance ceramic solutions. With a presence in over 70 countries, the company is noted for its technological innovation, international projection, and commitment to sustainability and circular economy practices in its production processes.
Patricia Franco presented the award to Ángel Pastrana Molero, managing partner of Gresmanc Group. Four additional awards were given for internationalisation, innovation, employment, and sustainability. The internationalisation award went to Artesanos del Cuero Rey Pavón, S.L., from Consuegra; the digitalisation and innovation award was received by Aeternum Game Studios, S.L.; the training and employment award was presented to Restoledo, S.L.; and the sustainable pyme award was given to Mundopalet, S.L.
The special mention for business legacy was awarded to Santo Tomé, S.A., a company deeply rooted in Toledo's history and identity, which has preserved the traditional production of marzipan over seven generations. The pyme of the year award, established in 2017, aims to recognise the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises as job and wealth creators and to highlight the daily efforts of entrepreneurs contributing to the economic development of the region. Since its inception, 14,010 pymes have participated in this competition.
