Institut Valencià de Cultura presents ‘A puerta cerrada’ by Jean-Paul Sartre at Teatre Martín i Soler

The Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC) is set to showcase the play ‘A puerta cerrada’ (No Exit) by French philosopher and playwright Jean-Paul Sartre at the Teatre Martín i Soler. The performances will take place on 7 and 8 November, as part of a special programme temporarily relocated from the Teatre Principal to the Palau de les Arts in Valencia.

On 7 November, following the performance, the director and cast will participate in a public meeting at the Rialto theatre, starting at 12:30. This event aims to foster engagement between the audience and the creative team, providing insights into the production and its themes.

‘A puerta cerrada’ is a seminal work that explores existentialist themes, focusing on the interactions of three characters trapped in a room, symbolising the human condition and the nature of hell. The play remains a significant part of Sartre's literary legacy and continues to resonate with contemporary audiences.

The IVC's initiative reflects its commitment to promoting cultural activities and enhancing public access to the performing arts in the region. The Palau de les Arts, known for its architectural grandeur and cultural offerings, serves as an ideal venue for such performances, contributing to Valencia's vibrant cultural landscape.
