The Councillor for Culture, Elena Serrallé, has announced a new edition of the autocine, set to take place on 14 November at the IFAB esplanade, featuring screenings of the films Grease and Mamma Mia!. Serrallé, accompanied by Jesús López, the director of the Municipal Film Library, stated, “When preparing a cultural programme, we must consider the tastes of the people who will enjoy it, their interests, and what we can offer them to encourage participation.”
She advocated for a municipal cultural initiative that is attentive to citizens, combining the continuity of cultural services and spaces with new formats that provide fresh incentives for cultural engagement. Serrallé expressed a desire for the people of Albacete to find reasons to participate in their city's programming, ensuring that cinema continues to hold a prominent place.
This edition of the autocine will focus on two musical titles that resonate with various generations of viewers. The programme will commence at 19:30 with the screening of Grease, which has a runtime of 110 minutes. Following this, Mamma Mia!, lasting 108 minutes, will be shown at 21:30, rounding off the evening with another musical-themed offering.
Both films will be screened in Spanish, and the audio will be transmitted via a radio frequency that attendees can tune into from their cars to enjoy the films from within their vehicles. Serrallé expressed gratitude to Jesús López for his collaboration and the efforts made by the Municipal Film Library team to ensure cinema plays a significant role in Albacete's cultural life.
