Invat·tur hosts brazilian delegation from SEBRAE-PB to discuss sustainable tourism

The Valencian Institute of Tourism Technologies (Invat·tur) hosted a technical delegation from the Brazilian Service of Support for Micro and Small Enterprises of Paraíba (SEBRAE-PB) on 29 October, accompanied by researchers from the LOCSUS group at the University of Valencia. This visit was part of the International Seminar on "New Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Local Development."

The initiative aims to strengthen international collaboration and promote the exchange of best practices in areas related to territorial development, sustainability, and smart tourism management. During the visit, Invat·tur showcased its facilities, key operational lines, and collaborative projects with tourist destinations and businesses, highlighting the role of the Valencian Community as a leader in applying smart tourism to enhance competitiveness, sustainability, and governance of destinations.

Delegates had the opportunity to learn about Invat·tur's innovative work model, data analysis, digital transformation, and support for smart tourist destinations, aspects that particularly interested the Brazilian representatives for their potential application in SEBRAE-PB's operational territories.

The day also included visits to ADESTIC and HOSBEC, key entities in the tourism ecosystem, providing a comprehensive view of cooperation between administrations, innovation centres, and the business sector to promote a more resilient, competitive, and sustainable tourism model.

This initiative reinforces Invat·tur's international profile and consolidates its role as a reference point for knowledge transfer, tourism innovation, and collaboration with academic institutions and specialised organisations from various countries. It also helps strengthen ties between the Valencian Community and Brazil around shared challenges of local development and sustainable tourism.

According to the seminar organisers, the exchange of experiences between the two regions allows for the identification of new cooperation opportunities and advancement in innovative solutions to address challenges posed by digital transformation, destination competitiveness, and the sustainability of tourism on an international scale.
