invattur explores tourism resources and innovation projects in vinaròs

The Valencian Institute of Tourist Technologies (INVAT·TUR), which operates under Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, recently visited the Centre d’Inspiració Turística Vinaròs-Maestrat. The aim of the visit was to gain insights into the municipality's main tourist resources and the initiatives being developed, as well as to explore new opportunities in innovation, tourist intelligence, and digital transformation.

The visit provided an opportunity to explore the Centre d’Inspiració Turística's facilities and its immersive exhibition, which were developed as part of the municipality's Sustainable Tourism Plan, financed by the Next Generation EU funds. The centre includes various spaces dedicated to interpreting heritage, providing tourist information, and promoting the attractions of Vinaròs and its surroundings.

On the ground floor, visitors can find the Col·lecció Museogràfica del Fortí and the Tourist Info Vinaròs, while the first floor houses an immersive exhibition focused on the main tourist resources of Vinaròs and the Maestrat region. The building also accommodates the technical department of municipal tourism.

The Col·lecció Museogràfica del Fortí showcases materials discovered during the rehabilitation of the building, linked to the old Baluard del Fortí, which stood on the same site between the 17th and 19th centuries. This space aims to connect visitors and residents with the local historical heritage and integrate it into the municipality's tourism offerings.

Both the installation of the museum collection and the creation of the immersive exhibition were developed under the Sustainable Tourism Plan (PSTD) of Vinaròs, with funding from the Next Generation EU funds.

Integrating technology and heritage for enhanced tourist experiences

The Centre d’Inspiració Turística exemplifies the integration of heritage resources, tourist information services, and new technologies within a single space, aimed at improving the interpretation and dissemination of the region's attractions. The incorporation of immersive content offers new possibilities for presenting tourist resources and expanding ways to engage visitors with the destination, complementing traditional information and promotion channels.

The visit also highlighted the municipality's main tourism needs and priorities, identifying potential areas for action related to digitalisation, tourist intelligence, and data utilisation to enhance destination management.

Cooperation with destinations in the Comunitat Valenciana

Collaboration with municipalities is a key focus for INVAT·TUR, allowing them to understand local challenges, share specialised knowledge, and identify practical opportunities for applying tourism innovation. Direct contact with destinations facilitates the exchange of experiences and the identification of initiatives that can contribute to improving planning, management, and tourism competitiveness, tailored to the specific characteristics and needs of each municipality.

These efforts align with INVAT·TUR's mission to promote innovation, tourist intelligence, and digital transformation as tools to support the destinations of the Comunitat Valenciana.
