The Teatre Conservatori will host the musical ‘Oz, the untold story’ this Sunday, 1 November, coinciding with All Saints' Day. The performances are scheduled for 12:00 and 18:00, featuring students from Manresa Teatre Musical.
Based on Gregory Maguire's book, this musical reinvents the world of Oz, taking audiences back to the years before Dorothy and her companions embarked on the yellow brick road. ‘Oz, the untold story’ explores the narrative through the perspectives of the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch.
As one witch fiercely rebels against the Great Wizard and faces exile, the other chooses diplomacy to effect change from within. Despite the traditional labels of ‘wicked’ and ‘good’, their alliance empowers them to find their place in the world. The story conveys a message about the courage to be oneself and remain true to one's values.
The mutual transformation of the characters illustrates that true magic lies in the freedom to accept who we are and the strength of friendship as a catalyst for change.
Tickets for ‘Oz, the untold story’ are priced at €15, with discounts available for seniors over 65 (€12) and for those under 30 or holders of the Carnet Galliner (€10). Tickets can be purchased online at www.kursaal.cat, at the Kursaal box office, and one hour before the performance at the Teatre Conservatori box office.
