Navalcarnero will celebrate its wine heritage on Sunday, 11 October, with a new edition of the Wine Fair, set to take place in the iconic Plaza de Segovia. This event will bring together ten wineries linked to the Denomination of Origin (D.O.) Vinos de Madrid, providing an opportunity for attendees to discover and taste various wines from the Madrid region.
The fair will begin at 12:00, although activities will commence an hour earlier with the opening of an artisan market. This edition will feature the following ten wineries:
- Bodega Aumesquet Garrido
- Bodega Siguín
- Bodega VegaLuna
- Bodegas Muñoz Martín
- Bodegas Cardeña
- Bodegas La Casa de Monroy
- Bodegas Viña Bardela
- Txinpanzé Vinos
- Vinos de la Poveda
- Vinos Jeromín
This selection of Madrid-based producers will allow the public to explore the richness and variety of wines protected by the D.O. Vinos de Madrid.
Wine tastings starting at €2
One of the main attractions of the fair will be the chance to taste the participating wines. Tastings will be available from €2, and those who purchase the first two tastings for €4 will receive a complimentary wine glass while supplies last. This initiative aims to encourage both locals and visitors to sample different wines and discover new offerings directly from the wineries.
Wine, crafts, and culture in Plaza de Segovia
The programme will kick off at 11:00 with the artisan market, followed by the main event, the Wine Fair, at 12:00. At 13:00, regional dances performed by ARACAN will take place, transforming the Plaza de Segovia into a vibrant meeting point for wine, crafts, and traditional Madrid culture.
The celebration is supported by Vinos de Madrid and Madrid Enoturismo and is organised by the Town Hall of Navalcarnero.
Navalcarnero's historical connection to wine
Hosting a Wine Fair in Navalcarnero highlights the town's historical significance within the D.O. Vinos de Madrid. Navalcarnero is one of the four sub-zones of this designation, alongside Arganda, San Martín de Valdeiglesias, and El Molar. The town's deep-rooted connection to viticulture continues to shape its identity, landscape, and culture. Events like this fair help to bring this heritage to the public, showcasing the names and projects behind each bottle. They also provide a valuable opportunity to support Madrid's wineries and promote the knowledge and consumption of local wines.
This Sunday, 11 October, offers another chance to enjoy the local wine culture in one of Navalcarnero's most recognisable settings.
