nearly 5,000 attend the 29th theatre week in lucena

The 29th Theatre Week Ciudad de Lucena, held from 14 to 25 October, has wrapped up its programme with an exceptional response from the public, who filled the main performance venues in the city and also engaged with street performances.

Before the final performance of “Rocío Dúrcal es Inolvidable,” featuring Carmen Morales and Alejandro Vera and directed by Juan Carlos Rubio, the mayor of Lucena, Aurelio Fernández, expressed his gratitude to the citizens for their extraordinary support of the Theatre Week. He also congratulated the Cultural Delegation, led by Francisco Barbancho, for their efforts in delivering a two-week programme catering to a wide range of audiences.

In total, the 29th Theatre Week attracted nearly 5,000 spectators across both indoor performances and outdoor shows, with all scheduled functions at the Municipal Auditorium, Palacio Erisana, and Castillo del Moral fully booked. Notable productions included “El barbero de Sevilla,” “Misery,” “Panorama desde el puente,” and “América Forever” by Goyo Jiménez, alongside various theatrical, musical, family, and magic performances.

The street programme also received a warm reception, particularly for “Hypnos” in Plaza Nueva and “Famulus 4.0” in Plaza Archidona. The Cultural Delegation has also thanked the participating companies, technical staff, the organising team, and volunteers from the Duque de Rivas Theatre School, whose collaboration was essential for the success of this Theatre Week. As the event looks forward to its 30th anniversary, it aims to continue bringing the performing arts closer to both residents and visitors, maintaining the interest demonstrated in this edition.
