Nearly 800 seniors gathered at the Parque de la Antigua Cochera de Tranvías in Alicante for the third consecutive Community Day organised by the city's Department of Seniors. The event, held on 25 October 2026, featured a giant paella and live music, allowing participants to socialise and enjoy a festive atmosphere.
Mayor Luis Barcala attended the event alongside the Councillor for Seniors, Begoña León, and other municipal officials. He expressed his delight at the enthusiasm displayed by the seniors, stating, "It is fantastic to see the energy and eagerness to enjoy themselves that our seniors have once again."
The Community Day aims to provide members of the 19 municipal senior centres with a chance to connect outside their usual environments, fostering a sense of community and enjoyment. Approximately 27,000 seniors utilise these centres, which offer over 330 workshops and courses throughout the year, in addition to special events like this one.
