Ponteareas hosts fourth edition of ‘Pinchotea’, celebrating innovative tapas

Ponteareas is set to become the epicentre of high-end miniature cuisine with the launch of the fourth edition of ‘Pinchotea’. Running from today until 8 November, residents and visitors can indulge in exclusive culinary creations, each priced at no more than €3.

This year's event invites discerning palates to embark on a gastronomic journey through the names and kitchens of local establishments. Among the highlights, El Túnel offers a sophisticated “Tartaleta de ratatouille con abano de ibérico y huevo de codorniz”, while Balú aims for harmony with its sublime “El montadito de Iris”, featuring pork cheek in red wine on brown bread with mozzarella cheese.

El Montadito presents a structural design with its spectacular “Montadito”, a culinary architecture of breaded prawn, egg, mayonnaise with pepper, and tuna. Mama Fina elevates the traditional “Taco de pollo” with elegance, using corn tortilla, coleslaw, and chipotle mayonnaise, while Eira Vella merges tradition and international flair with its exotic “pulpo eira vella”, featuring octopus in mango sauce on a bed of sprouts.

For those seeking bold twists, Papelón con Limón serves the acclaimed “El bikini pulled pork”, and El Troll promises satisfaction with its comforting pincho “Verde”, a stew topped with a poached quail egg. The culinary adventure continues at Vinoteca Casa Rivero with “Pulpo con texturas de queso azul”, and Cortiñas showcases originality with “El frijolón”. Berceo offers classic elegance with “El pecado del Berceo”, a toast of bread, pork tenderloin, brie cheese, and caramelised onion, while A Tenda demonstrates that well-designed local products, such as garlic, oregano, and thyme, can be a true luxury with their “Tosta A Tenda”. Finally, La Preciosa transforms culinary delicacy into art with “Paque”, an innovative fried beef sushi with grilled pineapple on fire salt and a surprise bonbon.

To enhance the experience, the Concello has established fixed hours for tasting the various culinary creations: from Thursday to Saturday during the evening from 19:30 to 23:30, and on Sundays during the vermouth session from 11:30 to 14:30.

The mayor of Ponteareas, Nava Castro, emphasised that gastronomic events of this calibre are essential tools for showcasing hospitality creativity, boosting local commerce, and fostering community around gastronomy. Ricardo González, the councillor for commerce, noted that with each edition, it becomes evident that the focus has shifted from traditional tapas to elaborately crafted offerings using quality products, establishing Ponteareas as a gastronomic reference for the entire region.

As is customary in this event, citizen participation plays a crucial role. Each pincho will feature a unique QR code, allowing users to access a mobile app to vote, locate all participating businesses, discover culinary proposals, and share photos of the dishes they consume. For those less familiar with technology, a physical card will also be available for stamping at the venues. In either case, a minimum of four consumptions will qualify participants for the grand final prize draw. Additionally, this edition introduces the opportunity to win direct prizes during the campaign, provided by participating venues, collaborating businesses, and the Concello itself.
