Saeta: a puppet show exploring life and death

Saeta is a puppet show by Javier Aranda that blends humour and emotion to tackle profound themes such as life and death, advocating for puppetry as an art form for all audiences.

Saeta: a puppet show exploring life and death

Saeta, a puppet show, delves into the themes of life, death, and the essence of theatre. Javier Aranda employs humour to explore deep questions, stating: "It is a show that speaks of life, of death, of theatre, of how theatre is made, of how one can live, and what we do in this world. It addresses all these issues that may seem distant or abstract, but are, at their core, very close to us."

Aranda challenges the stigma that puppetry is solely for children, asserting that this medium also has a place in conventional stages and allows for the exploration of significant topics. "In Spain, it is true that it is complicated, but little by little, I believe we are opening this space. More and more puppet shows for adults are being scheduled, and we are starting to attract an audience. I think we are gradually breaking these stereotypes."

Saeta will be performed at 9 PM in the party hall of the Complejo de Encamp, as part of the Ànima puppet festival programme.
