Teatro Paseo de la Velada will host 'The Classical World Meets Jazz' concert on 23 October at 20:00. The event will feature pianist Juan Luis Galiardo and vibraphonist Arturo Serra, performing alongside students from the Conservatorio Muñoz Molleda.
This concert is organised by Rizoma Records in collaboration with the municipal delegation of Culture and is sponsored by the Diputación de Cádiz. The performance will include musicians Pedro Cortejosa on saxophone, Javier Delgado on double bass, and Bajish Jayaweera on drums.
The repertoire will showcase some of the most notable jazz standards, aiming to merge the classical elements of orchestral strings with the modernity of a traditional jazz quintet. This innovative and pioneering proposal seeks to blend these two musical styles, which are both symbiotic and antagonistic in their techniques.
This format has attracted jazz musicians from around the world and across eras, from the classic swing to the revolutionary bebop (including artists like Charlie Parker and Clifford Brown) as well as contemporary avant-garde influences such as Gary Burton.
Advance tickets are available for €13 on Giglon.com, while tickets purchased at the venue on the day of the concert will cost €18. Members of the Sociedad Musical Linense Félix Enríquez will receive a reduced ticket price of €8 at the box office, and those associated with Rizoma Records can attend for free.
