The town of Vinaròs has announced the fourth edition of its hiking march, set to take place on 15 November. Organised by the local Department of Sports and the Aula de Natura, the event is part of the municipal sports calendar aimed at promoting physical activity and health while combining sport, nature, and solidarity.
Sports councillor Luis Adell emphasised the event's established presence in the local sports calendar and encouraged residents to participate in this outdoor sporting day in one of the municipality's natural settings.
The hike will commence at 10:00, with participant registration starting at 09:00. The route will take participants around the hermitage, covering an approximate distance of eight kilometres. Although the event is non-competitive and of easy difficulty, the organisers advise participants to have a reasonable level of fitness due to the trail's characteristics. This year’s route will be about half a kilometre longer than in previous editions and will be available on the platform Wikiloc under the name MSV2026.
Online registrations can be completed via the website www.hj-crono.es. Additionally, there will be an in-person registration day on 28 October from 17:30 to 20:00 at the town hall. Participation fees are set at €8 for those under 12 years old and €15 for participants aged 12 and over. One euro from each registration will be donated to AFANIAD Maestrat, the charity benefiting from this initiative.
The hiking march is open to all, whether participants choose to walk or run the route, and pets are also welcome. The organisers anticipate the activity will last around three hours. Each participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt, a piece of fruit, and a bottle of water. At the end of the hike, a traditional fideuá, a type of noodle dish, will be served.
Family-friendly activities will be organised throughout the day, both during and after the march, to encourage family participation. The Aula de Natura has assured that the entire route will be clearly marked and requests that participants adhere to the designated path. They also recommend wearing comfortable clothing and suitable footwear for walking in natural surroundings. In case of any incidents during the event, participants are advised to contact the volunteer staff present for assistance.
The Vinaròs Town Council and the Aula de Natura invite all citizens to register and join this fourth edition, providing an opportunity to enjoy nature, promote healthy habits, and support a charitable cause.
