Cambrils celebrates science week with three educational activities

Cambrils is celebrating science week with three activities that connect scientific knowledge with various fields, including music, nutrition, and family storytelling. The first event is a concert-lecture titled "Chaos: from theory to music," presented by Laura Farré Rozada. This event will take place on Tuesday, 10 November, at 19:00 in the Crypt of the Ermita. Farré, a pianist, mathematician, and science communicator, will explore the connections between mathematics, chaos theory, and music through piano performances of works by various composers. Organised by Cambrils Cultura, this event is free but requires prior invitation through Codetickets.

The programme will continue on Thursday, 12 November, at 19:30 in the auditorium of the Cultural Centre, with a lecture titled "Viral diets and health: what is true and what is not," led by Adriana Rodríguez Fuentes, a researcher from the Department of Basic Medical Sciences at Rovira i Virgili University. This talk will examine the nutritional claims circulating on social media, why some messages go viral, and the risks associated with following advice lacking sufficient scientific foundation. This lecture is organised by the URV's Extended Campus, the Cambrils History Museum, and ComCiència URV, and is also part of the 2026 Biennial of Contemporary Gastronomic Art of Cambrils.

Finally, on Friday, 13 November, at 17:30, the company Anima Theatrum will present "Andromeda, the astrophysicist" at the Cultural Centre. This theatrical story, organised by the Josep Salceda i Castells Library, is aimed at families with children aged five and older. Through the tale of an astrophysicist striving to realise her dream, the story conveys values such as self-confidence, perseverance, and the freedom of choice. This activity is also part of the Good Treatment Days organised by the Equality Area of the Cambrils Town Hall.
