The provincial delegate for Economy, Business and Employment, Miguel Díaz Brazales, has presented the first National Cofrade Fair in Ciudad Real, an initiative led by the Virgen del Prado Cornets and Drums Band, with institutional and financial support from the Castilla-La Mancha government.
Díaz Brazales highlighted the efforts of the organising team in bringing this project to fruition, which will gather 28 bands from various regions of Spain. This participation underscores the national significance of the event and is expected to stimulate economic activity in the capital of Ciudad Real.
The provincial delegate also noted the presence of stands dedicated to businesses and artisans specialising in cofrade products, providing them with a platform to showcase their offerings to participants and visitors. This commercial aspect complements the musical and cultural programming of the fair, enhancing the visibility of an economic activity linked to the traditions and celebrations of Holy Week.
Furthermore, Díaz Brazales expressed optimism that this inaugural edition will draw thousands of people to Ciudad Real, positively impacting sectors such as hospitality and tourism accommodation. He pointed out that the arrival of participating bands is already influencing hotel occupancy rates, as some groups consist of up to 180 members.
The National Cofrade Fair aims to serve as both a meeting point for bands and enthusiasts from different regions and a showcase for businesses and professionals operating within the cofrade sector.
