The Central Library Pedro Ibarra in Elche is currently hosting the exhibition 'Versos Pintados', which showcases a collection of paintings inspired by poetry. The exhibition was inaugurated by Loli Serna, the city's councillor for libraries, who expressed her delight at the event, stating, "It is a pleasure to welcome you to an exhibition that invites us to discover how poetry and painting can meet, converse, and move us through art."
'Versos Pintados' is part of the special programming for Library Day and will be available for public viewing until January. The exhibition features works from 72 artists who have drawn inspiration from literature, creating a unique connection between visual art and poetry. Each painting corresponds to a poem, transforming verses into imagery and offering visitors a fresh perspective on poetry.
Among the literary figures that inspire the artworks are renowned poets such as Antonio Machado and Miguel Hernández, alongside contemporary poets like Eduardo Boix from Elche. Serna encouraged the public to visit the exhibition and explore the poems that lie behind each piece.
