Festival details and key events
Taking place from 19 to 24 October, the festival will be held across six strategic locations, with the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum in Getaria, the San Telmo Museum in San Sebastián, and Tabakalera serving as the main venues. The evening of 22 October will be particularly notable, featuring a runway show at the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum, showcasing Mans, a leading and innovative brand in the Spanish textile industry, alongside Eder Aurre, a key figure in contemporary Basque fashion.
Laura Chamorro, director of the San Sebastián Moda Festival, revealed that Mans will present an unprecedented retrospective, highlighting a decade of work with a focus on menswear. “The show will be a lesson in craftsmanship and know-how, celebrating bespoke tailoring within the museum's architecture,” she stated.
Emerging talents and local initiatives
Chamorro also emphasised the significance of Eder Aurre, a prominent name among the new generation of Basque designers, who has developed an exclusive collection in tribute to his grandmothers for this event. The show will feature live music from Suakai, an artistic collective known for its innovative approach.
Goizane Álvarez, the cultural deputy, remarked that the festival serves as a vital platform for the fashion sector, enhancing visibility for the creative talent in Gipuzkoa, a region renowned for its design and textile traditions.
