The Convento de Santo Domingo is set to host the event ‘Tesoros de nuestro folclore’ on 7 and 8 November, organised by Coros y Danzas de Ronda in collaboration with Ronda Tourism. This two-day showcase aims to provide an immersive experience into the traditional dances and costumes of Andalucía, presented by one of Spain's most significant cultural and artistic groups.
Rocío Vázquez, head of Coros y Danzas de Ronda, highlighted that the association has been dedicated to preserving and promoting local traditions for over 74 years. She emphasised that the initiative seeks to extend beyond their main event, the International Folklore Galas held every August. The aim is to not only present performances of songs and dances but also to delve into the history, attire, and other aspects that enrich the understanding of this art form.
The event will commence at 12:00 each day and is designed for both local residents eager to deepen their knowledge of their folklore and visitors wishing to engage with this artistic heritage. Performances will take place in the chapel of the Convento de Santo Domingo, with plans to evaluate this inaugural edition for potential future events.
