The cultural agenda in Móstoles, organised by the local council through the Department of Education and Culture, offers a variety of activities this week, including a children's workshop, a poetry recital hosted by ASEAPO, exhibitions, and films in their original versions.
On Monday, registrations open for the literary workshop 'La noche', which will take place on Tuesdays 3, 10, 17, and 24 November from 11:00 to 13:00 at the Almudena Grandes Central Library. This workshop promises a literary, visual, and sensory journey into the universe of the night, exploring its myths, the starry sky, dreams, literature, film, and music. Over four sessions, participants will delve into how darkness has inspired art and culture, combining readings, images, and creative proposals. The cycle will culminate in the creation of a sound map of the night, through active listening to the sounds of nature and urban environments.
From Tuesday 27 October, visitors can view 'Muñecas egipcias', an art exhibition by artist Susan Isaac, at the El Soto Sociocultural Centre until 8 December. Inspired by Lowbrow art, the Egyptian artist showcases the essence of her homeland through iconic figures, allegories, patterns, and symbols that evoke her culture and traditions.
The Filmoteca's original version film cycle will feature 'Así llegó la noche' (2025), directed by Ángel Santos, screening on Wednesday 28 at 18:30 at the Norte-Universidad Sociocultural Centre. This rural drama tells the story of a sculptor who isolates himself in a remote location on the Galician coast, gradually severing ties with family and friends. However, an unexpected visit from an old lover prompts him to reevaluate his desire for isolation and consider the possibility of a new escape.
On Thursday 29, the Almudena Grandes Central Library will host a children's workshop titled 'El museo de las maravillas' at 18:00, aimed at children aged 6 to 11. In this reading, oral expression, and creative workshop, children will test their knowledge of classic tales while discovering the stories behind various objects and exploring new narratives from tradition.
Also on Thursday 29, ASEAPO will present the poetry recital 'No pensar nunca en la muerte' at the City Museum at 18:00, concluding the week's cultural programme. The recital will feature Marisol García, Antonio J. Sánchez, Toñi Simarro, and Vicente Zaragoza, with musical participation from Laura and Natalia González de León from the Rodolfo Halffter Professional Conservatory of Music. Admission is free, with tickets available from Tuesday 27 at the venue.
