Cultural programme at Ateneo Arriaca celebrates 400 years of Marchamalo

Ateneo Arriaca in Marchamalo will showcase a diverse cultural programme over the coming months, featuring a range of events suitable for all audiences. This initiative is part of the celebrations for the 400th anniversary of Marchamalo being granted the title of 'Villa'.

The programme includes performances by well-known Spanish artists such as Manu Tenorio, Tennessee, and Mocedades, alongside tribute concerts and comedy shows featuring popular comedians like Álex Clavero, Susi Caramelo, and Coria Castillo. Additionally, there will be a Magic Festival and various theatre, dance, and children's musical performances.

Organised by the Department of Culture, the events maintain a policy of affordable pricing, with four free events and the remainder costing between €5 and €10 per person. Tickets will be available for purchase at the Cajeros Ciudadanos (Citizen ATMs) and on the website entradasmarchamalo.es at least two weeks prior to each event, with the first show scheduled for Saturday, 7 November.

The auditorium, which has nearly 350 seats, will host more than 20 performances, making this the most extensive programme since the cultural centre opened nearly two decades ago.

The autumn and winter programme will kick off on 7 November with a performance by comedian Jesús Arenas, who is returning after a successful show two years ago. His latest show, 'Campechano', will start at 20:00 and tickets are priced at €10.

Subsequent events will take place every Saturday in November, beginning with the children's musical 'Musilocos' on 14 November at 18:00 (€8), followed by a concert by Manu Tenorio on 28 November at 20:00 (€10). The singer from Seville will perform as part of his tour 'El Origen'.

After the Constitution and Immaculate Conception holidays, the programme will resume with three events in one weekend. On 11 December, comedian Coria Castillo will perform her show 'Vivir en pareja, ¿a quién no le va a gustar?' at 20:00 (€10). This will be followed by two free events on 12 December: the presentation of the children's book 'Mugra la Ogra' at 12:00 and the annual Santa Cecilia concert by the Agrupación Musical Arriaca at 19:30.

Additional events include a performance by the Spanish rockabilly group Tennessee on 19 December (€10) and a winter show by the Municipal Dance School, 'Barrocas', on 20 December, which will be free of charge (18:00 and 19:30).

During the Christmas season, two children's musicals will be held: 'En Navidad, regálame amor' by Las Zascanduri on 26 December (€10) and a K-Pop tribute show, 'The Golden Experience', on 2 January (€10), alongside children's cinema sessions priced at just €1.

In January 2027, tribute concerts will resume with a performance dedicated to Joaquín Sabina on 9 January (€10) and another for Estopa on 30 January (€10). Comedy will also feature, with Susi Caramelo performing on 16 January (€10) and a magic and humour show on 23 January (€8). A free theatre performance, 'La Oscura Raíz del Grito', commemorating the centenary of the Generation of '27, is scheduled for 29 January at 19:00.

February will see performances by the iconic group Mocedades on 13 February (€10), Mireia Montávez on 20 February (€8), and Álex Clavero on 26 February (€10). The programme will conclude in March with the 5th Magic Gala of Marchamalo on 6 March (€10) and the play 'Maribel y la extraña familia' on 13 and 14 March (€5).

Tickets can be purchased through the website www.entradasmarchamalo.es and at the Citizen ATMs located at Ateneo Arriaca, the kiosk in Plaza Mayor, and the 'García Fraguas' sports centre, available at least two weeks before each event.
