The gran tarajal beach is gearing up for the upcoming arena negra festival, scheduled for 6 and 7 November. Organised by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, in collaboration with the Tuineje Town Hall, preparations are underway for the main stage and daytime programming area, which will showcase performances by more than a dozen international, national, and local artists.
Lola García, president of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, emphasised the festival's role in boosting the local economy and supporting local businesses, stating that arena negra is becoming one of the major musical events in the archipelago's festival circuit. She also expressed gratitude for the institutional collaboration, the involvement of volunteers, and the community of gran tarajal for their commitment to respecting the environment, ensuring a sustainable festival experience.
Accompanying García during a site visit were Rayco León, the cultural councillor, Tuineje mayor David Herrera, and Nina Rodríguez representing the local small and medium-sized enterprise association (La Gavia).
The festival's line-up for Friday, 6 November, includes performances by Merche, Rosana, Álvaro de Luna, and Juan Magán. Saturday, 7 November, will feature Los Secretos, Luis Fonsi, Delaossa, and Lauta. The musical programme will also include the arena negra de día on Saturday, supported by Caja 7 and La Gavia, featuring Andrea Rodríguez and the Banda del Trópico, Kilombo Improvisado, NIA, ContraVentura, and Timbeque at the gran tarajal fairgrounds.
This year, a relaxation area has been established for attendees wishing to enjoy the festival throughout the weekend without needing to travel. Additionally, thanks to the Cabildo's transport department, a special bus service will be implemented for the event.
