The city council of Girona has opened the call for project submissions for the 72nd edition of Girona, temps de flors, which will be held from 8 to 16 May 2027. Interested individuals, entities, and institutions can submit their proposals until 10 January 2027, in accordance with the guidelines of the call.
Participants will have access to over 100 locations throughout the city for their floral projects, including monuments, historic buildings, public spaces, streets, squares, and gardens. Additionally, participants are encouraged to suggest other suitable spaces for their creations, which will be evaluated by the Temps de Flors Commission.
This year's edition aims to promote the opening of spaces that are typically closed to the public, such as commercial premises, with the intention of incorporating them into the exhibition route. The city council plans to collaborate with local neighbourhood associations to identify opportunities and engage communities in shaping the exhibition.
Moreover, this edition will focus on highlighting a specific neighbourhood, which will serve as a key feature of the 2027 floral display, aiming to give it prominence within the exhibition context. Notably, the upcoming edition will coincide with the 150th anniversary of the Peixateries Velles Bridge, an occasion that will be integrated into the celebrations of temps de flors.
Submission details
Proposals for participation in temps de flors must be submitted with the required documentation outlined in the guidelines, including a participation request, a floral installation project (accompanied by a photomontage or sketch), and a list of projects completed in previous editions, including photographs of the final installations. The call also encourages the reuse of materials from past editions, the use of plants and vegetation that can be replanted, and the adoption of measures to reduce water consumption.
These aspects, along with artistic and creative quality, floral ornamentation, and the feasibility of the installation, will be part of the evaluation criteria for the projects. Complete guidelines and information on the participation procedure can be found on the Girona, temps de flors website. Applications must be processed through the electronic headquarters of the Girona city council.
