The Horteralia festival has launched its 15th edition in Cáceres, attracting fans from across Spain for a night filled with music, humour, and extravagant fashion. The event, known for its irreverent and playful atmosphere, has once again become a gathering place for 'hortefans', who celebrate the freedom to enjoy themselves without reservations.
This year's opening night featured a diverse lineup of electronic pop, danceable rhythms, and original musical proposals. Notable performances included those by Ladilla Rusa, Amatria, El Gato con Jotas, La Perra y El Cari, and Neoverbeneo, setting the stage for what organisers hope will be the festival's most attended edition to date.
Ladilla Rusa and El Gato con Jotas shine on stage
One of the highlights of the evening was the performance by Ladilla Rusa, who made up for their absence in the 2024 edition. Their unique blend of electronic pop and humour resonated with the festival's spirit, featuring popular tracks such as 'Macaulay Culkin' and 'KITT y los coches del pasado'.
El Gato con Jotas brought a regional flavour to the event, showcasing 'electrojota' and merging traditional folk with contemporary music trends. Amatria, a national electronic music figure, also captivated the audience, while La Perra y El Cari presented their provocative electropop, and Neoverbeneo paid homage to popular hits through remixes and electronic beats.
Festival experiences beyond the music
Beyond the concerts, the fairgrounds offered a variety of attractions, including a karaoke stage where fans could take the spotlight. Traditional attractions such as a Las Vegas-style wedding chapel, bumper cars, and an arcade area provided nostalgic entertainment. The 'Photocall del Postureo' served as a creative red carpet for attendees to showcase their outfits, while a kitsch market and food truck area catered to festival-goers' culinary needs.
Star-studded Saturday ahead
Following the successful opening night, Horteralia is set for its main event on Saturday, with all tickets sold out. The lineup features renowned artists including Camela, a duo with over three decades of hits that resonate with the festival's audience, alongside Patricia Manterola and Nebulossa, who represented Spain at Eurovision 2024.
The festival will also host the 'Riñonera de Oro' and 'Hombreras de Plata' awards, celebrating the most original and daring styles among attendees.
Special transport services for festival-goers
To facilitate access to the fairgrounds, a special bus service will operate on Saturday, with departures from Avenida de Alemania. In addition to the regular line 4 service, an articulated bus will run from 15:30 to 21:30, with additional services between 21:00 and 3:30. Reinforcement buses will also be available from 3:00 to 5:00, with a ticket price of €1.30, payable via the festival's cashless wristband.
The festival is sponsored by the Culture, Tourism and Sports Department of the Junta de Extremadura through the Fundación Extremeña de la Cultura.
