The council of Antigua has announced the opening of bids for the resurfacing plan of roads in Caleta de Fuste, with an estimated contract value of €690,555.24. Mayor Juan Cabrera has indicated that the execution period for the project is expected to last two and a half months from the start date.
The deadline for obtaining tender documents and submitting offers is set for 9 November 2026.
Modernising the tourist area
David Alberto Guerra, the councillor for Roads, Infrastructure and Urbanism, stated that the works will involve resurfacing and repaving of roads, as well as horizontal signage. The streets included in the project are Avenida Alcalde Juan Ramón Soto Morales, Avenida del Castillo, and Calle Alcalde Francisco Berriel Jordán.
Mayor Cabrera concluded that this plan is crucial for the modernisation of the tourist area and aligns with the commitments made by the new local government of Antigua.
