L’Harmonia hosted the 50th and final literary conversation of l’h espai de lletres, an initiative launched by the Asociación Tres Quarts per Cinc Quarts and the libraries of L'Hospitalet. This event, held on 29 October 2026, signifies the conclusion of a project that has welcomed acclaimed authors such as Javier Cercas, Almudena Grandes, and Eduardo Mendoza to the city over the past 14 years.
Carles Ferrer, one of the organisers, stated, “It’s a completed project. We have had many satisfactions and enjoyed ourselves, but we believe that 50 editions is a good number to close it and renew ourselves.”
The final gathering featured local authors Dolors Marín, Emília Olivé, and Roger Bastida, providing an opportunity to reflect on their works and the importance of the humanities in the community.
The latest publications from the authors include:
- Dones de Foc by Dolors Marín, which highlights the roles of thirteen women during the Spanish Civil War: “They risked everything they had to fight against fascism.”
- Filantrocapitalisme by Emília Olivé, an essay that critiques the unethical conversion of charity into a market.
- Passeig de Gràcia. Historia de una familia by Roger Bastida, a biography exploring the influence of three Catalan lineages, reflecting both the splendour and shadows of the city.
As l’h espai de lletres comes to a close, its organisers are considering the possibility of launching new cultural projects in L'Hospitalet.
