The mayor of Lleida, Félix Larrosa Piqué, visited the capital of Bages today, accompanied by the city’s culture, city promotion, and consumption councillor, Pilar Bosch Vilana. They were received by Manresa’s mayor, Marc Aloy Guàrdia, and the councillor for business, tourism, and knowledge, Joan Vila Marta.
The meeting provided an opportunity to share strategies to enhance the tourism potential of both municipalities and to jointly address the transformation of their respective historical centres. The day began with the signing of the Book of Honour by the mayor of Lleida.
Following this, the two mayors held a working session to analyse actions linked to the neighbourhood plan, which both cities are implementing in their historical centres, thanks to funding from the Generalitat of Catalonia.
Meanwhile, councillor Vila and councillor Bosch visited the Tourist Office and met with the team from the Ignatian Way, a pilgrimage route that features both Lleida and Manresa as key cities.
Subsequently, the delegations took a walking tour to showcase to the Lleida delegation various cultural and tourist attractions, including Carrer del Balç and the new Baroque Museum of Catalonia.
Finally, the Manresa government took the opportunity to share three strategic projects currently underway in the city: the new Calle Guimerà, which is expected to open this December; the rehabilitation of the L’Anònima building to serve as the headquarters for employment, entrepreneurship, business, and commerce policies; and the transformation of the Fábrica Nova into a hub for knowledge, innovation, and technology in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC).
