New language pairs begin practising catalan in cambrils

The language volunteering programme (Voluntariat per la llengua, VxL) has commenced its new term with 12 language pairs in Cambrils, who were introduced to each other during a presentation event held on 26 October at the Cambrils Cultural Centre. During the event, participants received guidance on the programme's operations and supporting materials.

These new pairs join the 10 pairs who have chosen to continue their meetings after starting in previous terms. Additionally, students and participants in the language volunteering programme can engage in conversations in Catalan through supplementary activities designed to promote the use and understanding of the language. One such activity is the Catalan discussion group 'Fem-la petar', which meets every Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Vil·la Paquita Restaurant. This term also introduces the Easy Reading Club, which takes place every Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at the Cultural Centre.

The language volunteering programme extends beyond the weekly one-hour meetings over ten weeks, offering multiple opportunities for participants to speak Catalan. This initiative continues to be well-received, with a total of 22 active pairs in Cambrils. Anyone interested in participating can contact vxl.reus@cpnl.cat or via WhatsApp at 634 740 079. More information is also available at www.vxl.cat.
