Noja completes renovation of former medical centre

The town hall of Noja has completed the renovation of the former medical centre, aiming to convert the building into a more functional Municipal Attention Centre that meets the current needs of the community. The works have allowed for a comprehensive reorganisation of the interior space to optimise the available area, enhance the use of facilities, and facilitate the introduction of new municipal and cultural activities.

The project addressed a building where a significant portion of the space remained unused, specifically an old waiting room that had been empty. With the renovation, the local government sought to give new purpose to these areas, modernising the property and adapting it to the current requirements of the municipality.

The intervention included the renewal of necessary interior elements to adapt the facilities to their new use and comply with current regulations, while preserving existing windows and the heating system.

The mayor of Noja, Mireia Maza Somarriba, stated, “With this action, we give new life to a municipal space, making better use of the facilities and adapting them to the current needs of our residents. We want public buildings to be useful, accessible spaces open to various activities, where municipal services, associative participation, and culture can coexist.”

She also emphasised the importance of continuing to recover and optimise municipal resources to provide better spaces for citizens. One of the key principles of the renovation was to maintain the ongoing activities within the building. The medical service, which operates in the afternoons, and the Women’s Association, which uses part of the facilities for workshops and craft activities, will continue their work in the property.

Additionally, one of the rooms will be allocated to the theatre group of Noja, providing them with a space to carry out their activities. This way, the building will expand its potential uses and also accommodate cultural initiatives from the municipality.

The reorganisation of the premises will allow for better utilisation of the available space and reinforce the multifunctional character of the property, bringing together health services, associative activities, and cultural proposals in one location. With the completion of these works, the town hall of Noja is advancing its goal of improving municipal facilities through the recovery and adaptation of existing spaces, promoting a more efficient use of public resources and better-prepared facilities to meet the needs of the local community.
