Dozens of people participated in a heartfelt gathering at the cemetery in Olot to mark All Saints' Day, which included the reading of poems and musical performances.
The event was a simple yet moving tribute to honour the deceased at the Cementerio de Olot. The day began with a welcome from La Camerata of the Municipal School of Music, followed by Margarida Arau reciting the poems "Tolerància del retrat" by Jordi Pujiula and "Cançoneta incerta" by Josep Carner.
Speeches were delivered by mossén Pere Narbon Font, rector of the Parishes of Olot, and the mayor of Olot, Agustí Arbós. The mayor paid tribute to the local residents who have passed away in the last year, including Domènec Moli, Domènec Espadalé, Domènec Morera, Cristobal Colón, Gaditos Farjas, and Gina Sagristà. He also remembered a 20-year-old who died over the weekend and the victims of the recent train accident in Toledo.
Arbós emphasised that this day is for remembering those who are no longer with us, while also expressing gratitude for the opportunity to rise each day and strive to be better individuals.
