Patronat de Turisme approves new investment plan for regional councils

The General Assembly of the Patronat de Turisme of the Lleida Provincial Council has approved a new cooperation plan aimed at promoting tourism in the Pirineo and Terres de Lleida regions. This plan, which was approved on Monday, introduces funding specifically for tourism-related investments for the first time.

The eligible actions under this plan include the installation of permanent promotional elements such as informative vinyls, improvements to accessibility at tourist offices, the installation of technological equipment for visitors, the creation or renewal of regional tourism websites, the development of promotional mobile applications, the implementation of integrated booking systems, and the production of photographs, videos, and digital content for social media.

The plan maintains a budget of €460,000, providing €40,000 to each regional council, with exceptions for Cerdanya, which will receive €20,000, and Val d'Aran, which has a separate agreement with the Provincial Council. Rosa Pujol, the Vice President and head of the Tourism Commission, stated that “of this amount, €355,000 will be allocated to tourism promotion actions and the remaining €105,000 will cover investment expenses.”

Pujol emphasised that “with this initiative, we are taking a step forward in addressing the needs expressed by the regional councils.” She added that “not only are we continuing to support actions that position the Pirineo and Terres de Lleida as a leading destination for inland and mountain tourism, but we are also facilitating investments that will enhance both promotional tools and the visitor experience.”
