San Javier joins TítereMurcia as a new venue for the puppet festival

San Javier will host TítereMurcia for the first time, an International Puppet Theatre Festival in the Region of Murcia that is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a record 70 activities across multiple venues.

The inclusion of San Javier in TítereMurcia will provide a new stop for the festival, which primarily takes place in the municipality of Murcia. One of the highlights will be the performance at the Teatro de Invierno in San Javier on 6 November at 19:00, featuring the show “Sòmion. La ciudad de los oficios imposibles” by the company El que ma queda de teatre.

This family-friendly puppet show, accompanied by live music, invites audiences to explore a city where all trades are peculiar, from the street layer to the bird singing teacher. “Sòmion. La ciudad de los oficios imposibles” has received the Fetén Award 2026 and the Titirijal Tolosa Award 2025, emphasising the importance of imagination and the effort to realise our dreams.

Tickets for the show are priced at €5 and can be purchased through www.sacatuentrada.es and www.tititeremurcia.com, where tickets for other festival performances are also available.

The festival will run from 6 to 16 November, showcasing the latest puppet productions from both national and international artists. This special edition will feature 50 performances, three documentaries, three workshops, two exhibitions, and a participatory project. It will also include the participation of three international companies from Canada, Italy, and Colombia, alongside several national and four regional companies.

David Martínez, the Councillor for Culture, expressed his satisfaction at being able to include TítereMurcia in San Javier's cultural offerings this autumn, inviting families and the general public to take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy a festival that is a reference in puppet theatre.
