Sanxenxo is set to reinforce its status as a leading international tourist destination with its participation in the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, scheduled for 3 to 5 November at the ExCeL London exhibition centre. The municipality's strategic goal is to attract international operators while showcasing its natural, nautical, and sporting offerings in anticipation of the upcoming Xacobeo 2027.
The local delegation will be led by Juan Deza Otero, the councillor for Tourism and Beaches, who will head a commercial mission comprising a notable group of local businesses through the Sanxenxo Tourism Business Consortium (CETS), with its president also in attendance. This initiative is being coordinated with the Galicia Tourism Cluster and the Xunta de Galicia, the regional government of Galicia.
The event will receive strong institutional support starting from its inaugural day on Monday, 3 November, which will include the attendance of Rosario Sánchez Grau, the Secretary of State for Tourism. A key moment for the Galician destination will occur on Wednesday, 4 November, at 1:00 PM at the Galicia Tourism stand, where Carmen Pita, the Director of Promotion for Galicia Tourism, will lead an official presentation focusing on the destination's strengths, the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, and proposals related to Xacobeo 2027.
This year's institutional agenda has been adjusted, with the usual reception at the Spanish Embassy in London cancelled due to a recent train accident. On the promotional front, Sanxenxo's space will be integrated within the global Galicia stand at the Turespaña area. The municipality will showcase promotional tools specifically designed for the English-speaking market, including merchandise, a general destination brochure, and a specific nautical tourism brochure, all available in English, as well as the Blue Trails Guide, which will be accessible in print and via a downloadable QR code.
Through this initiative, Sanxenxo aims to consolidate its strategy for de-seasonalisation, demonstrating that its natural resources, coastline, and hiking routes create an attractive multi-experiential destination throughout the year. During the three-day fair, the delegation will engage in a busy schedule of meetings with tour operators and industry agents to establish commercial alliances and open new marketing channels in the English market.
