Enrique Cruz secures tenth title in canary islands after winning maspalomas rally

Enrique Cruz, a driver from Tenerife, has won the Maspalomas Rally, securing his tenth title in the Canary Islands Asphalt Rally Championship. This victory marks Cruz's fifth win of the season, having triumphed in five out of seven events.

His main rival throughout the season, Russian driver Alexey Lukyanuk, fought until the last moment to claim the victory but was unable to surpass Cruz's Toyota, which demonstrated clear superiority on the southern stages of Gran Canaria.

Cruz took the lead during the first six stages of the rally, showcasing his driving skills. Once he had mathematically secured the championship, he opted to avoid unnecessary risks, allowing Lukyanuk to gain prominence in the final stretch of the rally.

The podium was completed by Yeray Lemes, while experienced driver Luis Monzón and promising talent Raúl Hernández finished in fourth and fifth places, respectively.

The Maspalomas Rally concluded a weekend of high-level motorsport in southern Gran Canaria. With this result, Cruz wraps up an intense season with five victories in seven rallies, further solidifying his status as a leading figure in the Canary Islands Asphalt Rally Championship.
