Skatepark de Eirís to host galician junior skateboarding circuit final

The Skatepark de Eirís in A Coruña will be the venue for the final of the Galician Junior Skateboarding Circuit on Saturday, 7 November 2026. This event is a highlight in the regional calendar for the sport, where titles will be contested across different categories.

Organised by the Galician Skating Federation in collaboration with the A Coruña City Council, the competition will attract young athletes from various parts of Galicia for a day dedicated to skateboarding and the talent of the new generation. The event will feature the Street discipline, which is one of the Olympic skateboarding events, and will include categories for Sub 7, Sub 10, Sub 12, Sub 15, and Promises.

Manuel Vázquez, the city’s Councillor for Sports, emphasised the importance of hosting such competitions in A Coruña, which help promote sports among the youth. "We want all sports disciplines to have their space in the city and for new generations to have opportunities to start and progress," he stated. He also highlighted the growth of skateboarding and the need to raise the profile of its athletes while providing suitable facilities for the practice of the sport.

Vázquez mentioned local skaters Julia Benedetti and Luis Cabarcos as examples of the potential within A Coruña's skateboarding scene, underlining the importance of continuing to promote this discipline among children and young people. He pointed out that the Skatepark de Eirís is a municipal facility that supports sports disciplines increasingly popular among the youth. "Having spaces like this is essential for promoting urban sports and facilitating their practice among new generations," he added.
