Tourism from Galicia is participating from today until 5 November in the 46th edition of the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, one of the leading international tourism industry trade fairs. The event aims to promote Galician tourism and the Xacobeo 2027, a significant pilgrimage year for the Camino de Santiago.
Galicia has a dedicated 50-square-metre space in the Spanish pavilion, which also serves as a business centre to facilitate meetings between Galician professionals and international operators. The Xunta de Galicia's involvement in this fair underscores the strategic importance of the British market, which is currently the fourth largest source of international tourists to Galicia. In 2025, the region saw a 14% increase in British visitors, exceeding 130,000.
The United Kingdom is also notable for its connection to the Camino de Santiago, ranking as the fifth largest country of origin for international pilgrims. The Galician presence at the WTM aims to strengthen relationships with current operators, explore new commercial opportunities, and attract visitors interested in a unique and sustainable offering linked to nature, culture, and gastronomy. This initiative contributes to the de-seasonalisation of tourism and enhances Galicia's international profile ahead of Xacobeo 2027.
