The sub-22 baseball championship of autonomous communities is set to take place from 22 to 25 October 2026 in Asturias, with matches scheduled at the Municipal Baseball Field of the Universidad Laboral in Gijón and the Baseball Field of La Morgal in Lugo de Llanera.
This competition will bring together six regional teams: Navarra, Valencia, Asturias, Murcia, Aragón, and Cataluña. The tournament will follow a league format during the qualifying phase, with matches occurring on 22, 23, and 24 October. The final is scheduled for Sunday, 25 October, at 10:00, at the Universidad Laboral field, where the top two teams from the preliminary rounds will compete for the championship title, followed by a trophy presentation.
The Asturias team will be coached by Jorge Marte, the national coach and head of Club El Llano, with Teo Santos, coach of Club Junior, serving as assistant coach. The squad will consist of 18 players, including some under-18 athletes, such as pitcher Enait Marte, who is considered one of the rising stars of Asturian baseball.
This tournament showcases some of the most promising young players in the country and ranks among the highest levels of national baseball, just below the final of the División de Honor. It presents a unique opportunity to witness future talents in Spanish baseball competing in Asturias.
For Asturias, hosting this championship not only allows local teams to compete at home against some of the strongest regional teams in the country but also highlights the efforts of local clubs and the federation in developing new players.
