Torremolinos to host grand ‘Fiesta del terror’ on 31 October

The Torremolinos Town Hall has announced the ‘Fiesta del terror’ scheduled for 31 October at the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Centre. The event promises a day filled with magic, creativity, and fun, featuring a concert, workshops, storytelling, a treasure hunt, and a haunted tunnel, all free of charge and inclusive for all attendees.

Event schedule

The festivities will commence at noon with an English storytelling session titled ‘Storytime trick or treat’, aimed at children aged 3 to 10, in collaboration with the Kids&Us English Academy of Torremolinos. The gardens of the cultural centre will transform into a themed horror park from midday until 9:30 pm, featuring giant inflatable figures of a devilish clown, enchanted pumpkins, and ghostbusters to create a spooky atmosphere.

Local dance schools will also participate, showcasing dance performances and choreographies. The Royal Family urban dance group, led by Lucía Barroso, and the Torremolinos Dance Centre, directed by Carmen Crespo, will entertain attendees from 4 pm at the main entrance of the building.

From 5 to 7 pm, the ‘Cursed Treasure Hunt’ will offer a thrilling experience through fun games and challenges. Concurrently, various creative workshops for families will take place in the gardens, including horror makeup, FX tattoos, and monster hair painting. Young people aged 14 to 30 can also enjoy a non-alcoholic cocktail workshop.

Music will be provided by Quimi Rock, who will liven up the most terrifying party of the year. The haunted tunnel will open from 7 pm to 9:30 pm, offering an interactive experience suitable for all ages. Visitors will walk through dark, themed scenarios designed to evoke fear, featuring actors and special effects in various rooms such as The Mansion of Lost Souls, The Hallway of Lamentations, The Forbidden Room, and The Cursed Jail. Access to the tunnel will be via the rear of the cultural centre, free and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Inclusive activities

The ‘Fiesta del terror’ will prioritise inclusivity. The Torremolinos Town Hall is committed to ensuring accessibility and well-being for all families. The Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Centre will feature a sensory-friendly room, a calm space for individuals with autism and auditory sensitivities to relax. This initiative is organised by the TEAcompaño Association.

Additionally, hearing protectors, superhero cards for queue skipping, and identification bracelets for children will be available at the centre's reception. The haunted tunnel will have an inclusive time slot from 6:30 to 7:00 pm, reserved for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and functional diversity. Pre-registration through the Torremolinos Despega app will be required for access without waiting in line.
