Teatro Real Carlos III in Aranjuez will commence its new cinema programme on 6 November, providing residents with the opportunity to enjoy free film screenings until summer 2027. The selection of films will adhere to regulations governing free cinema exhibitions, which will influence the titles chosen for this inaugural season.
Looking ahead to the 2027/2028 season, the theatre is exploring alternative programming options that may include a broader range of films, potentially requiring a small admission fee estimated to be under five euros. This cinema initiative is part of the cultural season established through an agreement between the Aranjuez City Council and the Community of Madrid.
Screenings will generally take place every Friday at 20:00, featuring a variety of films aimed at different audiences. The programme will kick off on 6 November with Chinas, followed by Dios mío, ¿qué nos has hecho? on 13 November, Sala de Profesores on 20 November, and Guardiana de Dragones on 27 November. December's schedule will include Sorda on 4 December, Días perfectos on 11 December, La Librería on 18 December, and La Navidad en sus manos on 25 December.
Family cinema will have a prominent place in the programme, with a dedicated session each month designed for children in Aranjuez to enjoy films with their families. Unless otherwise specified, these family screenings will take place on the last Friday of each month.
Additionally, in 2027, the theatre plans to upgrade its cinema equipment to enhance the audiovisual experience for audiences. Tickets for the screenings will be available for free through the theatre's website. This initiative allows Teatro Real Carlos III to expand its cultural offerings with a stable cinema programme that complements its theatre, music, and dance events for the 2026/2027 season.
