The town hall of Coria is set to organise 'Coria Sabor Micológico 2026', an initiative that will take place from 1 to 30 November. This event will feature a variety of gastronomic proposals, mushroom-related activities, and tourist experiences in celebration of the XIX Day of the Mushroom in Coria.
The programme will include tastings of mushroom dishes throughout the month, alongside special menus available on weekends, specifically on 7-8 and 28-29 November. Additionally, the XI Tapas Route Contest 'Coria Sabor Micológico' will occur on 13-15 and 20-22 November at participating establishments.
To enhance the experience, various educational activities will be offered, such as mushroom classification meetings, taxonomic exhibitions, and a guided walk through the Dehesa de Mínguez, scheduled for Saturday, 21 November. A guided tour of Coria's historic centre will also take place on Sunday, 22 November, allowing participants to explore the town's heritage and main tourist attractions.
This initiative is supported by the Senderuelas Mycological Association of Coria and local hospitality establishments, whose involvement helps to highlight the region's gastronomic products and tourism resources. To encourage visits and overnight stays, the campaign includes a €10 discount on double room accommodation in hotels and tourist apartments throughout November, as well as a €5 discount on weekend mushroom menu tastings at participating venues. Discount vouchers can be collected at the Municipal Tourist Office.
With this new edition, the town hall of Coria aims to promote tourism and stimulate the local economy, inviting residents and visitors to savour the flavours of autumn, discover the natural surroundings, and appreciate the historical heritage of the city.
