Vigo council urges regional government to address concerns of families affected by Santa Cristina PIA
The municipal government calls on the regional administration to ensure the rights of families impacted by the PIA. Following a meeting with affected residents, Mayor Caballero requested immediate dialogue with the Xunta to provide satisfactory responses.
The municipal government of Vigo has urged the regional government of Galicia to exhaust all avenues to protect the rights of families affected by the Santa Cristina Project for Integrated Action (PIA). Mayor Abel Caballero made this appeal after meeting with a group of residents who have expressed significant concerns regarding the project.
Caballero emphasised the need for the Xunta, Galicia's regional government, to initiate immediate dialogue with the affected families. He stated that it is essential to listen to each family's situation and circumstances in order to provide satisfactory responses.
Before proceeding further with the PIA, the mayor insisted that the Xunta must reach agreements with the families. He called for the immediate convening of the more than one hundred affected families to address their demands positively.
