The Clúster Turismo de Galicia has reported a successful outcome from a series of three professional workshops held in Portugal on 27, 28, and 29 October. The events took place in Coimbra, Braga, and Porto, aimed at enhancing the marketing of Galician tourism offerings in the Portuguese market and fostering new opportunities for business collaboration.
A total of 26 Galician tourism companies participated, with 16 attending all three cities and an additional 10 joining the final day in Porto. The workshops facilitated direct contact with more than 150 professionals from the Portuguese tourism sector, primarily travel agencies and tour operators interested in promoting the Galicia destination.
Participants noted a particularly warm reception in Coimbra and Braga, where Portuguese operators expressed significant interest in Galician tourism offerings. The quality of the connections made during these meetings even led to the signing of initial commercial contracts, highlighting the effectiveness of such initiatives in generating real business opportunities.
The programme also featured the participation of the Axencia Turismo de Galicia, which had its own stand at the professional meetings, alongside Galicia Destino Sostible, enhancing the visibility of the diverse experiences and tourism products available in the region.
Key figures from the Clúster Turismo de Galicia included its president, Cesáreo Pardal; vice president, Jesús Picallo; and former president and executive council member, Francisco González, who were joined by members of the Technical Secretariat. The Porto event also welcomed Carmen Pita, director of Promotion for Turismo de Galicia, and Alfonso Martínez, treasurer of the CTG.
The workshops showcased a diverse range of tourism offerings, including hotels, rural accommodations, active and nautical tourism companies, travel agencies, and firms specialising in tourist experiences. This variety facilitated connections with different types of operators and opened new marketing possibilities in the Portuguese market.
Through this initiative, the Clúster Turismo de Galicia reinforces its commitment to international promotion and the internationalisation of the Galician tourism business landscape, establishing B2B professional meetings as a key tool for building commercial relationships, expanding markets, and enhancing the competitiveness of sector companies.
