José López Campos, the Minister of Culture, Language and Youth in Galicia, emphasised the role of the 'Xuventude Crea' competition in uncovering new talents and showcasing the potential of Galicia across various artistic, creative and culinary disciplines. His remarks came during the final of the cooking category of the seventeenth edition of the competition, held at the Abastos Market in Santiago de Compostela.
The winners of this year's cooking contest were announced, with the first prize awarded to the recipe for ravioli with beef, chestnut and turnip tops, followed by the second prize for 'Os da casa' and the third prize for millefeuille made with chestnut, coffee and aguardiente.
Accompanied by Lara Meneses, the Director General of Youth, López Campos praised the high level of the 23 participants in this category, stating that their culinary proposals reflect the rich tradition and interest in recipes, products, and gastronomy that exists in Galicia. He noted that the competition successfully engages younger generations in these culinary traditions.
López Campos reiterated that 'Xuventude Crea' continues to demonstrate that Galicia has an excellent pool of talent for the region's culinary scene, ensuring a generational shift that meets the standards set by renowned chefs who promote 'Galicia Calidade' worldwide.
He congratulated the winners: Náyelin Michelle Ferreras and Ana Yivelis Pérez from Arzúa for the first prize; Anxo Giráldez and Lucas Gil from Ponteareas for the second; and Valeria Torrado from Boiro for the third.
