A group of around twenty young people is participating in the third edition of the Taldeka artistic mediation programme in Pamplona, which aims to deepen their engagement with the city's cultural and artistic life. The programme consists of fifteen sessions that explore the concept of identity through creative workshops, meetings with local artists, and visits to exhibitions.
Running from October to March, the Taldeka programme is designed for two age groups: those aged 15 to 17 and those aged 18 to 21. The sessions are coordinated by artists Oihane Mcguiness and Karmele Oteros, and take place on alternate Thursdays. The initiative is free of charge and is open to both Spanish and Basque speakers.
The programme encourages a creative approach to contemporary culture and aims to generate artistic proposals and initiatives driven by young people for a young audience. Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences and explore various forms of artistic expression.
So far, three of the fifteen sessions have been completed. The central theme of this year's edition is identity, viewed as a construct shaped over time, allowing each participant to contribute their unique perspective. The programme focuses on three main areas: the first examines individual identity through daily experiences, encouraging participants to create a continuous record of images and physical materials; the second actively develops these identities through workshops led by artists, utilising disciplines such as photography, video, sound, fashion, and narrative; the third connects individual identity with collective identity, using the Ciudadela as a meeting point for community practices that document collaborative work in the local environment.
In the previous edition of Taldeka, participants engaged in various activities to learn more about Pamplona's cultural and artistic scene, including analogue photography workshops, mixing plates and sound, short films, fanzines, textile sublimation, and visits to contemporary art exhibitions, culminating in a final exhibition showcasing their work.
The Taldeka programme is aimed at young people aged 15 to 21, divided into two groups: Taldeka 15–17 for those born between 1 January 2009 and 31 December 2011, and Taldeka 18–21 for those born between 1 January 2005 and 31 December 2008.
Upcoming session dates include: October 1, 8, 15, 22; November 5, 19; December 10, 17; January 14, 28; February 11, 15; and March 11, 18, 20.
